Here as just a few of the events our students have partipated in:
Locks of Love: We host a hair and monetary donation drive annually to support this foundation. In nine years, we have proudly sent a total of $4935 and 2409 feet (28914 inches) of hair.
Support the Troops/ Letters To Soldiers: Sending care packages and letters to soldiers.
Community Theaters and Dance Companies: Providing hair and makeup for performances.
Supporting Local School Events: For Example; Partnering with PTA’S to provide services for Teacher Appreciation Days, Also Jump Rope For Heart, Girl Scouts events, school fundraisers.
Susan G. Komen: Providing drives, awareness and donations to support breast cancer.
Matter of Trust Hair Booms: NESHD collected and sent hair clippings that were made into booms and used in the recent Gulf oil spill.
David’s House: Raising Money to help support local non-profit business that houses families from far away in need of a place to stay while a treatment is being offered at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Walk Against Child Abuse: Sponsoring, raising money and walking to support non-profit organization Prevent Child Abuse Vermont. This non-profit was triggered by a tragedy in July 2008. One of NESHD’S student’s sister went missing in Vermont’s first ever Amber Alert. Her body was sadly discovered one week later, it was one of Vermont’s most devastating examples child abuse. Our personal connection to this tragic event has left us loyal to supporting them.
Relay for Life: American Cancer Society Walk A Thon to support and raise money to help fight cancer.
Project Graduations: Providing services for substance free after graduation party hosted by local high schools.
Donation of services and goods to local churches and organizations for raffles and silent auctions.
School Community Family Crises: Supporting and raising money for staff and students in crisis. For example fires, hospitalizations, deaths, etc.
